Why run them longer than they are ready to go? In april they are ready to go 4 1/2. I have no defense of the 2 furlong races.

How would you card mdn special races when there are only a handful, and thats not really an exaggeration, of owners buying reasonable priced horses and sending them to socal?

They would ALWAYS run a straight mdn three year old race the first day, then a filly race thurs-fri, and then one each over the weekend. These races would raw well the first week.

You would have your top flight owners, Paulson, Lewis, Harbor View, Moss, etc etc, then the rest would be made up of smaller barn owners who had maybe 5-10 horses but a few decent bred.

Now the big owners are all dead, money dont go to socal anymore. The middle guy is extinct out there.

Who doesn't go to Charles Town? I've never been in a Vegas or Atlantic City casino as crowded as that place was last weekend.
