They have the "rights" to a foreign player, crapshoot, a basement 1st rounder from the cavs, howard ugh... and thornton might be the only keeper in the bunch (didn’t even mention Big Z, well, b/c he’s Big Z).
You're not gonna attract ANY high profile FA's, who wants to come to DC and play for a franchise that’s in transition and their best player is either suspended or hurt for the majority... of EVERY year. they're gonna have to build from the draft, which is gonna take years. I agree once ted gets his foot in the door its gonna be a fire sale at first, he's probably gonna clean house like he did with the caps, so the wiz are on the 3-5 year plan as i see it.

It’s amazing how wiz tickets are now given away, go to a game on a friday night there, place is half filled at best. On the flip side, you have to give your first born for caps tickets, 3 years ago it was the exact opposite

House cleaning is pretty much done. Can't get anymore cleaned. They've gotten under the luxury tax threshold.

Luck is a huge thing. No Ovechkin and they are still giving away caps tickets although the NHL has done a great job in reviving the league.

mike miller and his 9M per could be moved if you really wanna knit pick
surprised he wasn't shipped at the deadline as well, but i guess who wants to take on that kinda salary, plus the guy is FA next year

Miller's contract is expiring. the wizards have roughly 30 million in salary promised for next season including the 17 million due arenas. Miller's contract is unimportant because they are already below the tax threshold. Theoretically they could re -sign him for far LESS money next year if they want to keep him but I doubt that happens.

Trading miller's expiring contract would have made no sense because they are trying to shed payroll.

Ginobili is an interesting free agent this summer.
