I was watching a show on the History channel just yesterday about the white House and this desk.. Was interesting to hear that it was also raised 2 inches (still is) for when Regan took office.

As far as Obama... He needs to re-take the test.

i'd give him a B + only if there is a huge curve for the test.

President Obama is the kind of guy to score a 60 on a test and curve it to be a B +.

I mean, nothing is ever his fault so how could he get a lower grade?

Why pander to conservatives as much as Obama does when they're just going to sh!t on you no matter what?

Pull a Bush and do everything you can to annoy them.

And in other news ... the Oakland press again asked Jamarcus Russell to evaluate his performance ... and he again responded "I played just fine"

Seriously, if it only takes 40% to block him, then he's at the mercy of that 40%. That's a-s-s backwards, and it's just one of the reasons nothing gets done(you don't want him to get anything done..not really.) From this point on, it will be damn near impossible for either party to pass anything at all controversial. You're gunna get blocked by that 40%. This goes both ways. Yes, the senate is a highly biased situation that favors people in the smallest populated states. That's always gunna favor Conservatives. That being said, 40% will always be found to block the next Conservative that comes in. You've blocked, and then accused someone of doing nothing. That's very easy to do. Wait, and you'll see you'll get the same from now on. The Government will now do nothing of any value(to either side.) You thought we had a stupid Government before, but just wait. It will get worse. It has gotten worse. We had an election, and the majority voted for a man who was for changing our medical system in a big way. See, that simple majority is just fine n' dandy when you want to stop people from getting married etc. However, when you don't want something done, then you're all for a 40% minority nullifying the will of the majority that voted for President. It's actually much less than 40%, because it's a pool that has South Carolina represented with the same weight as New York. To a lot of people, this is indeed the issue that caused them to vote. What good is an election if your gunna need 60% of the senate? How often are 60 senators gunna agree? When you get your boy back in there you're gunna get a big surprise. Block Everything. You've set the precedent. Nobody can lead now, and nobody will. Oh, sure, you're gunna get your people voted in. Most Americans are too dumb to figure out this guy is being stopped by a 40% minority in just one leg of the Government. They won't comprehend it. You're get your Repubs in, but so what? You're gunna get blocked from here on in, too. You know those people with the reflexive comment about both parties being the same? Now, they are gunna be exactly right, because the results will be damn close. Do you know how watered down all the bills are now gunna have to be? To get 60 out of 100 Senators? They have just made it very attractive to vote for 3rd party candidates. Might just as well do that. Danzig may finally get someone running that she'd like to vote for. They don't realize how stupid a thing they've done. We're never going back. 60% OF THE VOTES FROM NOW ON. See how ya like it. Won't get anything done at all (neither party.) Absolute gridlock. Congrats. Get ready to give out a lot of F grades to Presidents that are handcuffed buy 40% of the Senators. I'll tell ya one thing, for sure. If I get terminal cancer, I'm going to Connecticut for my treatment. HOLE-istic treatment.

makes you wonder how we've ever managed to get anything accomplished. on the other hand, it allows all the senators to have a say, rather than just one party. it also encourages compromise and agreement between both parties.
