Talked about this Thursday night on ATR and he wins first ride back... He's persona non grata with a lot of trainers/owners. But Chuck said that many riders appreciated some of things he wrote feeling Sellers was sticking up for the wee men and women. Will be interesting to see wherehis business comes from. He's got a good agent and it's notable that his first mount and win came from Mark Guidry.

OPELOUSAS - As the sound of cracking metal echoed toward the backside barns when the gate flew open on the first race Thursday night at Evangeline Downs, Shane Sellers was finally at peace. It was man, horse and five-and-half furlongs of dirt race track. No more fights with a horse-racing establishment that helped force his decision to walk away from the sport after winning 4,069 races and more than $122 million at the age of 38. No more fractured relationships with trainers, owners and fellow jockeys. No more strain on the loves of his life - wife Kelli and children Shali, Saban and Steiner. What Sellers had in his hands were the reins of Ide Ball, the fifth betting choice of six horses at 6-1 odds in the $25,000 claiming race.
