So her idea was to leave our house in Old Bridge at about 11 am and go to the Cape May Zoo. Then we would go walk around town in Cape May. After that we would go eat at the 2 mile Crab House that's awesome. Finally we would go to the boardwalk in WW and put the boys on some rides. I admit I thought it was a ridiculous idea, but with ideas of heading to Monmouth for the day on Monday, I was willing to sacrafice the day to make her happy and then hopefully get a free pass to Monmouth.(you know lose the battle to win the war). The ride down was no problem and we made it in world record time, it was amazing. Waiting in the worst Burger King in the world for over 20 minutes behind some trashy porky woman (wearing clothes 2 sizes too small) and her 10 year old kid that smelled like he took a dump in his pants took some of the shine out of the good start to the day. We made it to the zoo and it basically sucked all the animals were asleep (or at least that's what I thought :eek). It was about one step above the Staten Island zoo (which is only 35 minutes away.) Hell we could have went to the safari at Great Adventure and been better off. So we go to Cape May, which I think blows. Drive all that way to walk around that little group of town stores that all sell either sunglasses, fudge or Ice cream. A complete waste of time, but at least we will be eating some crabs soon. We pull up to the Crab House and it's absolutely abandoned. Apparently the floor caved in a couple of years ago and people ended up in the water. It hasn't reopened since. Wonderful, now we have to find a place to eat. So we head to WW and proceed to just miss T-boning some Tw@t that blew a stop sign. We start to look for the boardwalk and just notice that things don't look right. Plus everyone wants like 30 bucks to park. That's not the reason but we decide to skip the boardwalk for now. We stumble across a restaurant that has all you can eat crab legs, so we decide to go for it. That's when my little one Michael decides he can out scream the other 2 year old in the place. It wasn't really a place for kids so it was a little uncomfortable. My wife and I look like Kobyashi eating hot dogs on July 4th, trying to eat as many crab legs as possible before Michael went totally bats.hit. By this thime it's getting late and we decide not to go to the boardwalk (once again time wasn't the main reason). The drive back wasn't awful until we ran into a thunderstorm near home. It was a long long day, that really turned into a real waste of time. And to make matters worse I was so tired on Monday that I never made it to Monmouth. Now that I think about it, I guess that this story was worthy of a timeline. Just an absolute waste of a day.

So, in summation, you lost the battle only to skip the war?
Sorry to hear that your good deed didnt turn out as planned. I agree with Cape May, I'd rather watch grass grow. The only thing cool about that neck of the woods is the cement ship and the lighthouse/WWII turret thingys. Look at it this way, your next shore experience can only be better. Next time your in the area and hungry, look no further than Somers Point. http://www.yelp.com/biz/smittys-clam-bar-somers-point The NE clam chowder is a taste of heaven.

Been over 5 years since I have been married, I gotta get that whole "lose the battle to win the war" thing ingrained back into my thick skull.

Best part of that area is Springers Homemade Ice Cream in Stone Harbor. & the beach is fun also. You dont have to worry about sharks as much as the FL beach.
Found one down here called Cocoa Beach... south of Daytona, where you can bring beer on the beach as long as its in cans. Pretty freaking awesome I've never seen a beach that alcohol is allowed. Me, my cousin and her college friends (smoking hot in bikini's) and 4 Marine's drank about 3 cases... played football and jumped the waves for an hour (water was cold it was the end of February... but you get numb after awhile and the alcohol helped).

"But my wife always comes up with bright ideas and I usually shoot them down automatically. You know because they are usually F'n stupid."
two questions. one, how would you feel if your wife read that? two, what would you say if she had written that about you? these are rhetorical questions by the way. just some food for thought. |

than this one. As far as me finding something she posted about me, I don't think it would bother me. It's a message board, what's the big deal? It's not like I went around to all our family and friends saying things like that. Plus I'm sure she thinks that I have had my share of pretty S.hitty ideas and I probably have.

Just came home from Smitty's myself, with some extra clam chowder for throughout the day. DOing alittle R&R with the fam, then headed to AC again with my brother Danny. The bad beat still hasnt been hit and is gaining about $2k a day on average per the poker room director. Time to put in some serious work, again, once the sun sets. Turned $350 into $840 at the 2-5 n/l table, but still no coup de gras. Then, like the idiot that I am, went to the BOrgata to lose about 2 and a half at the pai gow tables and the B bar. Having a blast though, and thats all that counts. GL today everybody!!!!!Charlie's boneless chicken is the $hiot, btw.
