Did they have Trifectas in te 70's??

Nonetheless the story sounds fake.

arlington park was the first track to offer trifecta wagering and that was in 1971. Apparently Calder jumped on the bandwagon soon as that was the same year Larry King hit his big trifecta at Calder

My other question is if you got that much debt, alimony to pay, no money to pay rent then why in the hell would you VALET park your car at the track????????

There are so many ways to go wrong with lies, that you would think he would give that up at when he turned 70 or so. For all we know, somebody kept the results from that day, and the pool size may not even jive with what he's saying. I don't see how a horse who beat this type of group (a couple races ago) would be 70-1. Show me that deal. Is that not the most absurd part of his tale? Just should of said he liked the way she looked on the track. See, when you get away from the truth, most people tend to get away from reality too much. We like that. That's why they make movies.
