So this was known on Friday....Wonder if the people who bet the horse in Pool 3 of the wager would have liked to have known that.

Better now than in two weeks. He should be fine.

Chuck probably can fill in more but four weeks out seems like enough time to me.

If he misses training time he will become a auto-toss for me.

Unless you are 100% the best shape you can be in, you dont win the Derby.

anything out of the norm will hurt Qr, and i doubt they will run him in the derby if it hampers his training , however to many others showed me more to talk about Dunkirk, i just can't see what the fascination is with this horse.

Thats what I'm thinking...they won't run him if he's not healthy, but if he misses even a little training at this point it's not good.

You have to wonder whether the hard, fast track on Florida Derby Day caused a prior condition to resurface. This is the part of the tracks' fascination with souped-up racing surfaces that never ceases to amaze me. Sure, maybe you'll put on a show that might fool the uninformed masses that attend "big race" days, but at what cost to your horse population down the road.

the owner doesn't need the $ , doubt he goes on the 1st saturday

he will be rested up and probably sent to the Dwyer

the injury is a fact

the rest is a personal opinion - i don't think with this type of owner and trainer there is a need to run this horse hurt to try and win a ky derby

they will do what's best for the horse long term , instead of what's best for them short term , if that makes sense

i will say he doesn't run

Maybe Chuck can weigh in, but depending on the severity, can they not just patch it these days and it will be good as new. Going quite aways back I remember Touch Gold having a quarter crack or infact tearing off part of his hoof after the Preakness but it was easily repaired with fibreglass in time for the Belmont.
