funny Tom Coughlin and the Eli would be getting killed last week if not for winning the ring last year

There would be a good chance Tom would no longer be coaching the Giants if Tyree didn't make that catch

Reid is a better coach than Coughlin - there is no question in my mind about that

Coughlin probably secured his job with the win at Dallas. And say what you want about Eli. He did suck against the birds, but when they needed him against the Pats he came through. It might have been a flukey play, but he still avoided the sack and made the pass.

Maybe Reid is or maybe he isn't a better coach, but there is no denying that Coughlin is the one with the hardware.

say they lost to the pats , after stinking it up against the Eagles my bet would have been Coughlin gone , now giants and their fans are stuck with him for 3 more yrs

he was horrible against philly now twice in the playoffs and horrible against carolina in the playoffs

Eli Manning has yet to win a playoff game at home - he is 0-2 , both years they had better teams than the teams they lost too

Manning has looked horrible in the meadowlands in Jan , not a lot of qb's do well there in the swirling winds and now he is going to get 100mm plus

Interesting. Especially with the threat of Spags leaving them.

So what your saying is that TC can thank Asante Samuel and David Tyree for his job.

I disagree. He would have still got the extention after the Super Bowl. Granted it wouldn't have been pretty around here. And he would have been on the hot seat going into next season. But to fire him in a season where they started 11-1, with losing their 2 best pass rushers before the season and then the whole Plax situation is a bit unfair. The Mara's are usually a pretty classy/loyal group and wouldn't have dumped Coughlin just to bring in Spags (if that's what you were thinking) or anyone else.

Wellington Mara was - not sure of the new breed , and don't forget the younger Tischs have a say now as well they won't be patient , if tom doesn't win a playoff game next year , they will buy him out IMO

I'm not saying that you are that far off base, but winning cures everything. You can come up with whatever scenario you want, but you can never take away the 2007-08 championship.

Eli hasn't been good at home, all you can do is hope he gets better. The reciever situation will be addressed and more importantly the line stays intact. I am expecting big things again from them next year.
