Because of 9/11, Bush got a free pass to, in my mind, do a lot worse things that Blago did, and certainly worse that anyone has tried to connect Obama to. Bush is old news and yes Obama is going to be held to that standard as is every president or Senate leader in the future. I began to reply in this post to Riot's partisan blaming of th RNC for this story being covered. Like the media wouldnt run with this especially in a slow news period where the financial stories and auto industry peices have grown monotonous. If Bush's chief of staff had 21 taped conversations with a Governor who was accused of selling a Senate seat among other things you dont think that would be a huge story? Hell the guy throwing shoes at Bush has been covered more extensively outside of Chicago than the Blago story. I have no outrage over the situation though i would love to know what Emmanuel and Obama knew about this guy.
