Come on, you know why, because all those "really cheap" tracks can certainly afford it? I mean couldn't you imagine Thistle making an announcement like: "hey, our purses are $90,000 a day, we think we can make it maybe another year without slots, our parent company's stock is on the verge of being de-listed and we're blacked out to ADWs." Sounds like a great idea.

By the way, in terms of being a "cheap" track, Philly Park has a better purse structure than any racetrack in the Mid-Atlantic except NYRA.
