My first reaction wasn't sabotage, but it's the melodrama that you have to expect. It is what it is.

Anyway, Did you get a look at that horse? How many were in on him? I didn't see the races or watch the replays yet, but I was puzzled by the horse Cody took.

Autry went to del mar last year. this horse would fit in those "broke maiden for 50k or less but have not won a race other than" races they have there. Just a guess.

Actually, the races in CA are for horses that broke their maiden for $40,000 or less, so this horse doesn't fit those conditions. (The starter allowances in NY are for $50,000 or less.)

That being said, if my memory is correct, I recall reading a story that about 2/3 of the horses that Autrey brought out to Del Mar last were claimed away from him, so against this backdrop, there's probably not that much risk in taking this horse given the purse structure there.

I don't think Autrey had a very good meet last year at Del Mar. A lot of those horses claimed from Autrey stepped up for the other barns. One of those, Dearest Tricski, who was taken for 12 or 16k, ended up a Grade 1 winner. In addition, Autrey got two medication positives during the meet (which I don't recall the final rulings for).

Id say just the Ramseys were the only ones, just a guess. Not alot of action at the $50k claiming box at CD.
The horse Cody took from Brothers is interesting, Brothers ran him at KEE with no public works showing in the form. Which I thought was illegal, however the horse snuck off at 36-1 and just missed to a horse that has already come back and won again.
