I don't know if that is fair to say about a closer who lost his races as a 2yo and then won them as a 3yo. If he doesn't get the same setup on the front end but still closes to win then I don't think the time is that important. Put him under the care of a honest trainer and he'll end up being a 40k claimer.

I'm more impressed with the run Recapturetheglory had in the Derby than anything Pyro did this year.

Guess I saw it differently than you guys. He tracked an average pace, totally avoided trouble, and held on for fifth. What was huge about it?

Agree with you; he's a miler, didn't stay in either the Blue Grass (poly generally requires stamina or extraordinary fitness) and the Derby.
