Pletcher has terrible numbers in the classics. He's something like 2 for 65 in the Derby with just 6 other on the board finishes. He's 0-for-10 in the Preakness with one placing. He's 4-for-37 in the Belmont.

With the exception of Palace Malice, I think none of this classic winners ever won another race.
Good news for Forte.

I didn't understand Andy Beyer's argument on Steve's show. They run slower because they have so little experience. They run less because the trainers don't want to start horses early; we have a new lucrative cottage industry; in the past, horses weren't trained to breeze in 10 and be sold. Now there is a tremendous effort not to create a racehorse. Now, there is a focus on achieving a get workout video.
