So speaking the truth is now contractually off limits?

It is if you are hired as a news analyst, and you sign a contract that you will not publically engage in opinion.

I'm interested in knowing how you know what is in Williams contract with NPR.

It's been discussed in various news outlets - in fact one of the links, above has it.

I would also like to know what 'behavior' Williams displayed that was so egregious?

His bosses have been quoted as calling what he said "bigoted".
