|   Yes. I obviously new the name of his horse.  Finding out the name of the other horse basically involved looking at the workouts for that day - and looking for horses who worked from the gate. There were 6 or so... the former stakes horse got the 1:14.80 handily from the gate .. the one who went with him for four furlongs got the 1:01 breeze for 5f from the gate. The first thing I did when I got back from MTR was to figure out who that other horse was. The stakes horse did outwork him - but for the trainer to be as utterly disgusted as he was, while his horse was going a little better, I knew the other horse probably was awful. I realized why he was disgusted when I uncovered that the other horse got beat like a combined 120 lengths in its 3 prior starts and was running Beyers in the 0-to-15 range. |
