Time to either pee or hurl

This is what I am waiting on at Delmar with 2 legs left of the pick 4.

08/22/2010 7:38pm Del Mar 6 $0.50 p4 3,7 With 4,6,7,10 With 3,4 With 1,2,7 24.00

I can't complain so far I hit the pick 3 at Saratoga today ending in the 6th and 7th races. Damn wife of mine keep asking me how much did I win. Answer; only people invested in my ticket can know....in other words she hates gambling but always want my profits.

After getting my butt kicked the past week, I am thankful that I am having a good weekend so far.

eajinabi 08-22-2010 07:40 PM

Good Luck! Will be rooting for you! What did you see in the 6 in the second leg??

Kingturf 08-22-2010 07:50 PM

His sire Da Stoops was a very fast horse and when I noticed the workout pattern and Pedrosa jumped from the 7 to him, I thought that was a key move knowing he was jumping off a horse who ran 2nd in his first start and he went with a different horse.

Kingturf 08-22-2010 07:52 PM

Even though I missed the 3rd leg, it was one of them s-it happen race when P=Val horse damn near fell over coming out of the gate to be fast closing 3rd.

The final leg I will box for exactas and key off and add other in the bottom spot for tri's

The works were there, I picked him on top.

RockHard,
It's amazing how simple hints in workouts get over looked by the public because a leading rider or trainer is not connected with that horse. If Rosario or Bejarano was on him odds would have been 9/2 or less...not 13-1. Good pick as well to you.

And yes, I did bet him flat with exacta and tri too.

I asked you a question about works in another thread and you didn't answer me. What does 'the works were there' mean?

I really did not see the question.
I thought the horse was as likely as anyone, the race sucked and I even wrote that I thought it was ripe for a firster to pop. A lot of luck went into the pick, but the 4/90 work was pretty strong, or 3/74 or something strong like that. Im not saying I bet the horse, I did not bet it, I did not bet anything today, but that horse totally bailed me out as my top pick ran second 6 times today and I went 1/9 overall, so yea when that horse won at 13-1 I was excited.

The trainer was 0 for 13 or something with first time starters. Hard to back someone like that.

He did have a right type of sire for sprints though and I overlooked that fact.

How many horses have 4/90 and 3/74 works and run like ass? I'd say plenty.

hockey2315 08-22-2010 09:55 PM

The horse worked in :34.80 Thursday. . . a full second faster than the next fastest worker. I didn't look at this race before now, but that sort of hint at early speed in the type of race where most of your winners will be on or near the pace seems like a relevant and potentially valuable piece of info.

Could have pegged you for some sort of retarded ******* cocky response.
Instead of saying yea good pick, even I said it was a lucky pick in a wide open race, you just dont stop.

I'm trying to start a productive discussion with you as to the value of printed workouts you mook.

A loosely adhered-to marketing term used to refer to an adolescent to twentysomething male who shows off and makes a scene of himself.

I googled.

I remember watching a training race in the morning at Mountaineer. A trainer had a horse who won the Phoenix Gold Cup at Turf Paradice in 1:07 and change a year or two earlier - he was coming back off of layoff and ran in a 35K claiming race at Belmont in his prior start. He thought the horse was doing well since he got him - and if he was impressive in the training race - he was going to come back at Presque Isle in five or six days for an alw race.

Some dirt cheap comebacking horse trained by a guy who hadn't won a race in about 8 or 9 years and is basically a feed man beats this classy sprinter out of the gate and is going better than him early ... is basically even with him for about four furlongs before he gradually starts to pull away unimpressively.

The trainer of the classy comebacker is so disgusted - he scraps the alw race and enters him in a 15K claimer - which he does manage to win by a nose.

When the dirt cheap comebacker is finally entered back - I give the trainer a call to see what he thinks - he starts whining "Jesus how did you find out the name of that horse!? For God sakes don't tell anyone - I've got this horse now and I'm all setup to make a score with him offshore" and on and on he went with the distressed whining.

As soon as I got off the phone with him - I thought to myself that he'll probably stiff the horse now. The horse is wrestled back at the start and basically wrapped up on the whole way. The next time it ran - it shot to the lead and went wire-to-wire at a fat price. The next morning - I get a call from the trainer bragging about how he scored with it. I was like "gee - man - why didn't you tell me he was running? If I only knew! Call me next time" I was playing with him as much as he was trying to play with me.

Huh?

He asked how you knew the name of that horse?
WTF?
