I agree with your first sentence. I dont with the second. They gave up some fringe players. There are no studs in the gruop. Scott is 30 and is at best a 4th outfielder type. Albers is very average. Troy may be the only one with star potential and that is a stretch. The Orioles didn't get anywhere near the top prospects the Marlins did (not that Tejada is worth it)

I see your point, but it is not like Tejada has any upswing at this point in his career. Troy Patton and Matt Albers were going to compete for a starting spot. I cannot see giving up two pitchers with starting potential for a 31 year old shortstop. I know the Astros have trouble scoring runs, but who on earth is going to pitch for them. They have no one after Oswalt. Pitcing and defense wins world series and I think Everett is a better defensive shortstop that Tejada and now they have worsen their pitching staff. The move doesn't make sense to me.
