That's the truth of things, it's much harder for a woman to get started as a trainer and much harder for her to be successful...do you really think there is some reason why men are better trainers? When I worked on the backstretch, I met numerous female trainers...they were every bit the horsefolks that the guys were....but they didn't get the horses! Karen Hackney at Penn National has a good year if she wins 5 races out of 200 yet she knows her stuff...the glass ceiling is still there! Give this woman a few years and we'll see if (a) she gets horses that she doesn't own and (b) what she does with them. She's got the background, learned from the best...way to early too throw her under the bus.
