my daughters sixth grade teacher would turn to kelly for pronunciations of words... and it's funny how your brain will hold onto stuff that you don't know is lurking in there, til something pops it out. a year or two ago, tony and i were watching something about the american revolution era. and up it comes with 'philadelphia harbor'. i jumped up and yelled 'i knew it!' he's looking at me like i've gone daft. i said no, see, in fourth grade the teacher had us all write a paper about a location in that era. she calls on me to read my report. i no sooner start reading about philadelphia harbor when she stops me, tells me i'm making it all up, go sit down, you're getting a zero. i was crushed-but you dared not argue with the teacher and they know everything right? oh, i wish i could find ol ms truax and give her a piece of my mind.
