They do have clothing to keep you warm. I buy 99% of my food from local producers (fisherman/lobsterman, ranchers, farmers), I got my first deer this year, I never have to contend with traffic, it's more peaceful, it's cleaner and generally speaking, the people here are pretty nice.

I've seen moose and bear from my deck and saw a bald eagle on my street once. I'm going to guess that my high heating bill is offset by not having to pay a sick amount for nearly year round use of an A/C.
