Philosopical question

If power isn't restored to my home by noon Friday is that God's way of telling me not to bet the Breeders cup this weekend?

ellpol 11-01-2011 12:07 PM

No I think it means your public utility company sucks

Sightseek 11-01-2011 12:08 PM

No, it's his way of telling you to support your local OTB/track.

MaTH716 11-01-2011 12:13 PM

So what time do you want to meet at Favorites in Woodbridge?

Clip-Clop 11-01-2011 12:13 PM

It is his way of telling you (and everyone else) to get out of the Northeast, awful, terrible place it is.

Believe me, if people could sell their houses they would get out.

It's her (Gods) way of causing you extra anxiety.

Absolutely! That's why Phoenix metro, Las Vegas, and South Florida will boom for the next 50 years.

There are lots of advantages to living here vs the South.

I know, I was teasing. We were lucky enough to get out by the skin of our teeth after cutting 100K off the price.

An understatement!

I agree, I would never tell anyone to live in the south either.

I'm talking mainly southwest...not Alabama.

Advantages?..freeze your a$$ off, scrape your windshield, shovel your driveway, take off your boots, pay a high gas bill, stock up in the supermarket, get sick...enjoy!

They do have clothing to keep you warm. I almost never have to scrape the windshield (indoor garage), taking off my boots is no hardship, the oil bill for heating does suck, I buy only toilet paper and bananas from supermarkets and I almost never get sick because I do not eat crap from supermarkets.

I buy 99% of my food from local producers (fisherman/lobsterman, ranchers, farmers), I got my first deer this year, I never have to contend with traffic, it's more peaceful, it's cleaner and generally speaking, the people here are pretty nice.

I've seen moose and bear from my deck and saw a bald eagle on my street once. I'm going to guess that my high heating bill is offset by not having to pay a sick amount for nearly year round use of an A/C.

IC,

If you're happy...I'm happy. G-d Bless!

asu, I grew up in Miami, lived in LA for a few years, did a 3-month stretch in Las Vegas plus probably 100+ shorter trips there, and don't have the slightest desire to live in any of those places. I've visited friends in AZ when it was 115 and nah, the dry heat didn't help that much. I'll take the fall colors, the flowering extravaganza of spring trees, and the winter wonderland effect of a good snow as reasonable compensation for the occasional slippery sidewalk.

Even San Diego, which comes closest to being tempting, is getting clogged by traffic and over-development.

Not that I don't enjoy a winter break down south, though!

I'd rather claw my own eyes out than live in Phoenix or Vegas.

I'd rather be seated between RockTardHen1985 and TFF in a crowded plane on a round the world flight than live in those places.
