My good friend, after reading your two posts, I have the sense that you might have been sampling the holiday eggnog a bit early.
It is much more likely that my so-called winning streak will come to an end this Saturday. There are simply too many good handicappers in our group for anyone to run off a long streak of wins in either contest.
As to a $2.10 winner, there really was one of them yesterday at Zia Park. Irad Ortiz flew in to ride a Steve Asmussen "sure thing". On paper, Super Stock looked about 8 lengths faster than the rest, and while he made his backers worry a bit, did win and I think created a negative win pool. How the local horsemen felt about some carpetbaggers coming into town to grab the lion's share of their largest purse off the year was not reported.
