Default Dish or Direct TV

We are thinking of changing from Dish to direct tv. Are both HRTV and TVG available on Direct? The sales rep was confused, but I want to have both? Thanks.

What is that? A local provider?

I'm in the same boat - going to be moving out of the Verizon FIOS area and need to get one of the two.
The Dish guide was confusing, and I didn't see TVG. But if you can get both, that might be the deal.
Plus I think you can order the Roberts Simucast package for like 59.00 a month and get the exact same simulcast feed as the otb's on Dish.

I have uVerse as well, much better than cable in my opinion. It uses fiber optics so storms have no effect unless of course you lose power. The picture is very good, and most importantly, the quoted part is true.

ditto what the two above me stated. I have to spend an extra $10/month for the sports package that includes tvg/hrtv and a busload of regional sports networks that i never watch.

u-verse is att's version of fios. same concept. if it's available where you live, it's a good alternative.

Thanks so much for all of the information. I will check on the ATT program. Does it have all of the regular programming as well?

Yes. They have an online tool available to see if you can get it.

DirectTV can't compare to DISH!!!!!!!!! Stick with Dish, you be happy you did when DirectTV's rip-off price increases take effect shortly.

Dish has the best value. HRTV and TVG is offered even in the most basic package.

I don't think you are gonna be disappointed, especially if you get RTN. I have wanted it for years, even when it was its own company years ago. Everyone that I know that has it, absolutely swears by it, especially if you hate the talking heads on TVG and/or HRTV.

Isnt RTN an extra 50 a month? Not worth it since there is always a mute button and/or free online live video on twinspires etc.

You have to get a separate dish (other than the Dish dish) for RTN but it is unquestionably worth the $50 a month. Once you have it you will abhor TVG and HRTV.
