Default Dutrow v. Commentator

http://www.drf.com/news/article/99695.html

I love Zito's quote:

"Maybe he didn't look at the Mass Cap the other day," Zito said. "They had a nice rabbit in there against us, and we handled it pretty well. He's bringing some rabbits just for me? I appreciate it. Tell Babe I really appreciate it. That's nice of him."

I'm not sure why the Cigar Mile is not in the plans. It's a NY G1, seems right up Nick's alley. Andy? Any ideas?

You can't blame Dutrow for doing what he thinks is the best way to beat Zito.

No your right, but I think he is vile and anyone that come back at him like that, goes up higher on my "cool person" meter!

Where is our resident Zito hater on this one? Oh wait, nevermind, I think he was banned.

The 'villain' here is not Dutrow but DIRT. If I were Dutrow and I knew that a horse like Commentator would have an UNFAIR advantage, I test him early and make him earn the win. In fact, if I were training, I'd test all the need-the-lead-and-have-the-track-carry-them types early and see if they had guts or wilted under pressure. Time to start using races as WORKOUTS.

The problem is the generally accepted notion that DIRT plays fair. We love our front runners here.

Pacemakers have been used in Europe as well as America for as long as there has been racing. From what it sounds like Dutrow is being just his blunt honest self, he could have said he is entering to ensure a honest pace for Arson Squad, if Commentator wasn't running this would basically be a non story.

Except Commentator settled last time off speed and finished strong. Different horse then when he did this move the last time

Churchill is one of the fairer dirt tracks in North America, I don't see much value betting Commentator here. Obviously he is the class of the race, however I'm not comfortable saying he is a stalk and pounce horse just yet, one thing I am comfortable in saying if he is if he is left alone on an easy lead he's a very different horse.

Arson Squad is a different horse on dirt. I expect him to win with 2 rabbits dueling for him. If Commentator wins one more time here off the pace, I'll be convinced he can stalk.

Thumbs up

I'm still relatively new here, but I find it hard to believe anyone would be banned if they were truly constructive in the opinions. If they were banned it is probably for good reasons, not for criticizing a Trainer.

Actually, no one really ever gets 'banned'. Those without the ability to interact in polite society are extracted from the membership list. Essentially, they disinvited themselves from participation here. And frankly, it takes a 'special' effort.

I mean, I hadn't seen ol' eurobounce in awhile, and this seems as apt a conversation as any for a reappearance.
