![]() Much like Giacomo, this horse would have been long forgotten if Jeremy Rose had figured out how to ride Afleet Alex sooner. Once Rose let Afleet Alex lope along down the backstretch (Preakness, Belmont) and make a big run around the far turn and into the stretch, he was a tough racehorse.
Unfortunately it seemed to take Rose awhile to figure that out and so, we have "G1 winners" from that crop like Wilko and Giacomo. |

![]() 29 starts, only three wins, but 16 times he was on the board. champ 2 yo, and winner of the bcj. by a top sire in awesome again.
wonder who will buy him in the fall....stud fee is tricky--but anyone looking for precocity would look hard at him. at least 10-15k i would think.

![]() The horse won one big race and was lucky at that. He was consistently run in Grade I's that he did not belong in and people kept betting him. Maybe overrated is the wrong word, but I see nothing special about this horse and certainly would not breed to him. I made good money betting against him. He is really not worth talking much about as he was not really anything more than most horses that race every day. So you can call it what you want.
