you are graduating already? i thought you were only 19? are you a genius or something?
anyway congratulations....that is pretty cool, especially considering what a great school duke is. i did my undergraduate work at Purdue, but went to grad school at............UNC. i guess that means we must hate each other.

Finals are over for me... and yeah, im 19. I took some placement tests my freshman year in high school and started at 16. Not a genius, and probably wouldnt have done it if it was my own choice, but the Rents had other ideas.

Tarheels... what a waste of a horse fan.

Soundness should probably not be on list of Orientate's attributes. He may have been one of the toughest horses I've seen because he went so bad in the mornings that his races were even more incredible for me.

lol! yeah....but if it helps i am mainly a purdue fan (loyalty as an undergraduate trumps grad school loyalty). i sort of follow the heels, but i never really hated the dukies the way the rest of the people at that school did. now the indiana hoosiers are a different story. they just suck. i root against them even more than i rooted against bernardini.....which is saying a lot!!

How can someone root against a horse? I don't even root against the horses that I show against, even when championships are at stake! Now I do root against riders...lol.

This is weird, I was at Xanthus yesterday with my friend who is looking to breed to either Duckhorn or Changeintheweather.

I think Duckhorn is gorgeous. What did you think when you saw him?

you know it's funny...I was looking through the stallion register about a month ago and I thought that if I ever got my hands on a mare that would suit him I would definitely give Duckhorn a try...He really appealed to me physically.

Me too, Bethani... I love the fact that he's got some depth to his chest and in pictures, it looks like he's got nice knees too. I've never seen him up close, though.

I haven't seen anything other than his page and the video from the farm...it's hard to tell for sure about anything regarding conformation unless you can get up close, the side shot is not enough, and the video on the computer is too grainy IMO. But I like him.
Also I say that with the idea that it would be something I was breeding to race, as the foal would have little to no commercial appeal/value.

Duckhorn comes from a deceptively good female family. His 8th dam is the bluehen Claiborne matron Risky. She's responsible for such stallions as Touch Gold and With Approval.

I'd love to see a nice With Approval or Touch Gold mare crossed back to Duckhorn... adding the classiest blood of the dam back to the stallion.

He looked great in person, nice size stallion, seemed pretty well mannered and his foals looked great. My Friend is between Duckhorn and Congressionalhonor
for his mare. Here is a link to Congressionalhonor could be a steal with his pedigree

i don't want to turn this into another thread about bernardini or my dislike for him (we have had more than enough of those) but i can honestly say that in my entire life i have only rooted against 2 horses:
- empire maker
- bernardini
why did i root against them? because they deserved it.
