To me, the most interesting result so far is Pure Prize. Not a great book but is keeping up with Officer and Jburg when it comes to stakes performers. Obviously, the class of stakes is different, but still a good showing.

A young girl with your looks, that knows a thing about thoroughbreds...is OK in my book. Anyway, your member name is ALL about class. I fell in love with BALLETTO in her very first start. Candy Stripes is the best sire on earth.

32nd on the list with only 28 runners.. Unbelievable.

ATeam... Candy Stripes couldnt get it done here in the states. There have been many stallions who were subpar at best in the US only to sire extremely good horses in South America.

I would imagine those 28 runners were 28 horses imported from South America which meant they were probably top calibre horses down there who have been keeping up pretty well with our own.

I'm no breeding expert. I just know that he's a relative bargain, doesn't throw many horses, yet has sired three of the ten best horses I've seen in the last 3+ years.

He stands in South America so he really isnt available to US breeders... and when he was, standing in Florida, he was down right horrible. But with that said, he's nicking so well with SA mares. Cant argue his success there.

also the broodmare sire on Candy Ride

The best of the Orientates that I have seen hasn't started yet either.

French blood really seems to do best with South American mares and Candy Stripes is loaded with it.

His yearlings looked great... nice balance and a great hip.

These are obviously combined North American and Euro statisitics, because foals by these horses are nowhere to be found on US tracks. I would like to see North American racing only stats given by themselves somewhere.

I didn't see any of his yearlings, but I'm sure that the majority of them have looked great because a large percentage of them can run. Form=function. I knew that Orientate was going to be a good sire based on how his two-year-olds worked at the sales this past year. A lot of them are beautiful-moving, powerful, precocious animals.

Orientate is a beautifully built and balanced horse himself. Another thing that I like about him so much is that he retired sound. I expect him to be right there in the top spots for sires in his second crop. I think that his first crop will have a very good year next year as well.

Another horse that I like a whole lot as a stallion prospect is First Samuri because he is a beautifully built and balanced horse. Also, he has the prestigious bloodlines to back him up. I'm really looking forward to his foals.
