![]() OK peeps! Who can beat SONGBIRD and why? See you Saturday. The 4starD is a great matchup. Thoughts?

![]() Half the field. She's good, but not great like many people proclaim. She's run one fast race. She's beat one good horse. Taking her at 1-9 going the longest she ever has, with other speed signed on seems silly.

![]() She reminds me of Plum Pretty. Plum Pretty was better though.

![]() I was more comparing the circumstances than the horse-
1. Careless Jewel's competition leading up to the race was not stellar (though no argument Songbird is much more accomplished). 2. She was all front end. 3. She did not have a 10 panel pedigree. She not only relished the extra distance, but improved 4 lengths in the stretch run. I can see the same scenario tomorrow. At this point I'm using Family Tree and Going for Broke with her as both can shade a wicked early pace and not lose touch. Family Tree looks like she could be sitting on a big move up in class. I think Go Maggie Go is going to be a pace victim. |
