![]() love that he won, but what i'd love even more is if trainers will decide to emulate his career leading up to the derby. he's not a pampered hot house flower at all, with seven starts at two. today was his 12th race.
he's got 'bottom', and i hope it carries him to more successes in the weeks to come! had a great time today at la downs. the universal groan when the feed for the derby was cut for about 1 1/2 seconds was funny...reminded me of the guy pulling the plug on the movie 'airplane' and making all the lights go out. one note tho... la downs-you need more machines in your box section. two at the bottom of the stairs is NOT enough.

![]() I couldn't agree more. A throwback. I want to see him run against the best in Baltimore. How awesome Belmont day could be on top of the epic card already in place! fingers crossed.

![]() I Am thrilled for his owners and trainer. Gives hope to the little guys. What other sport can small fry get into as owners? And then to win the biggest prize of all.

![]() Not to mention these folks...
Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome is not just the pride and joy of California but of the horse division of Harris Farms in Coalinga, where the son of Lucky Pulpit was born and raised and where his sire stands. According to Dave McGlothlin, the farm’s general manager, Lucky Pulpit’s popularity skyrocketed this year after California Chrome’s emergence as a leading contender for the Kentucky Derby. On Saturday, the farm staff took some time off to watch Lucky Pulpit’s most famous offspring make a successful Run for the Roses, becoming the first California-bred since Decidedly in 1962 to win. Someone had the foresight to videotape the horse division crew watching the Derby telecast and California Chrome’s thrilling victory. McGlothlin (with mustache, standing on the left side of the group) is among the celebrants. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUF4_FL91gk http://www.paulickreport.com/video/h...hrome-victory/ |
