I've been off-line for about three weeks due to a computer problem (repaired now). Seems like I managed to win the Winstar Stablemates name the filly contest they conducted recently. Here's Elliot Walden's post about it:
"Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope you have a blessed holiday season! I would also like to thank you all for your wonderful name submissions for Bluegrass Cat x Theregoesmsamerica ’11. It was really tough to pick a winner but in the end I decided on ‘Redwhitenbluegrass.’ Thank you so much Michael Napolitano for this great name! Once the Jockey Club has approved the name, Michael will be receiving a nameplate keychain! Happy Holidays everyone!" They informed me that the Jockey Club has already approved the name, so I'll be rooting for this filly big-time down the road. Wish they would have cut me in for a piece of the horse, though! |

Great Name! Congrats on the win but a Keychain is a horrible prize. A small share in the horse would be better.

Very cool, but I agree that Winstar could do better than a keychain.

Even if you only got a keychain -- it's still cool to be forever connected to her!
Perhaps you can convince them to allow you in for a meet and greet if you're ever at a track she is stabled. |

I won the "name my daughters contest" and received a percentage of their lifetime earnings through college. So far I'm a few million in the hole.
