Default Asmussen mares rescued from slaughter

http://www.paulickreport.com/news/ra...ghter-auction/

Still can't figure out why they were bred back to Intimidator first.

bad enough when a small time owner does something like that, but to know that a family presumably doing well would resort to such an auction....well, it's just a damn shame.

I just don't get it, why breed these mares back, and My God, the torture they endure in Mexico, they knife them in the back, and butcher them half alive. I haven't heard anything the Asmussens are saying, so will wait to hear their side, but this is so disconcerting, I know to some horses are just a commodity, but man, have some compassion, I know horses are exspensive, I have them too, but my income is like a pimple on the ass of an elephant compared to theirs, and my horse's have always been humanely euthanized with love and dignity, I can't even comprehend knowingly subjecting them to that, pregnant mares no less.

I remember reading an article in Bloodhorse about the farm in Texas and how the whole family are horse lovers ..blah blah blah. NO horse lover would subject a horse to the cruel torture of a Mexican slaughterhouse, and doing it to pregnant mares is even more despicable, these mares could very easily have been given to someone, they were very well bred mares, this just sickens me.

"All mares are safe and we are contacting the original breeders or next of kin to let them know and offer the horses back to them first before we adopt them to new homes. We will oust more info on them when it becomes available."
