Default The Glass Half-Full Award

A lot of us are saying things like 'well on the bright side, it's better that they withdrew him now instead of the entire country watching something bad happen on the track.' Others take the glass half-full thing to a whole new level.

I nominate @Steve_Byk for this gem:

well, he's got a point. i'd have thought more than two other horses would have those stats..and that's a long time ago.
better he join those two in that stat, than be compared to majestic prince.

I have great respect for Stevie, of course, but I'd imagine he wouldn't mind if I disagreed and nominated another beloved gentleman for this fine award of yours.

My choice would be Lava Man for being one of the most joyful parts of the whole TC season.

How could anyone watch him leading out I'll Have Another and not get a kick out of it? Not smile?

He is the Yang to I'll Have Anothers Yin in terms of showing the non-racing fan, easily persueded New York Times reading public that see??? We DO take care of them.

He is the quintessential racehorse, the blue collar hero (oh come on don't get mad at me for using that word), the peoples champion and proof that any claimer can achieve a degree of greatness.

He is the poster child for 2nd careers for thoroughbreds and just well the perfect ambassador for the sport.

He is a treasure.

Since nothing can balance out the disappointment of the day I'm searching for positives and he's my favorite one.

I'm hoping (assuming) that if IHA leads the Belmont post parade tomorrow, that Lava Man will still come out with him.

He will. One of my favorite parts of this TC season has been getting to see Lava Man in his new role. Still looks amazing. I'm glad he gets rounds of applause from the grandstand just for being there.
