Default 8/17: Saratoga (Day 23; $38k C/O)

Wet Monday was a tale of two halves at Saratoga, as first five of the day were largely formful ahead of surprises that generated a $38k P6 carry into Wednesday. Early P4 and a solid $82.75 triple in the 5th keyed by Spina made it a decent afternoon before giving some back on the late quad and in the feature. The Special was annexed by Michael Matz with Union Rags who won off by himself as the field spread out all the way down the stretch. That was the best example of what regularly occurs on sloppy track days as virtually every winner from the 5th-9th, as the ongoing rain made the track as sea of slop, took control of their heat early and wired. Fields in races like Monday's get strung out as some runners spin their wheels and other hate the splosh. Wednesday sequence features 6 maiden events, and we'll have to wait and see about the 5 events scheduled for the lawn...
