yeah, she'd have had to channel silky sullivan after giving up so much ground early. she did well. first facing against gr 1 winners this year, and almost pulled it off. but not quite. maybe the better than secretariat because he lost bs can end now.

Can't believe how much ground she made up on that bunch. That's truly amazing. She laid it out there her gallop out was non-existent after that peabrain ride. Whadda shame

She had one race against real competition and lost. She will not and does not deserve to be HOY.

Is there really enough doubt about this to have a discussion??? Zenyatta's lifetime best race was 2nd place. Uncle Month was the best BC Juvenile winner I think I've seen. But Blame wins 4 of 5 against the best competition. Highway robbery if he doesn't get it.

Uncle Month! Someone is typing on their blackberry...

In any event, I think it would be a travesty if Blame isn't horse of the year, but come on, guys, does anybody really think that is going to happen?

The connections made their bed. I hope they are more gracious and applaud the deserving winner this time around.

http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...beats-zenyatta

Video at the end of the article - Post race news conference. I thought Hancock and Stall were particularly classy in their comments about Zenyatta.
But, I guess it will be fodder for further argument.

I would rather see them give it to Z as more of a lifetime thing, no way she does not deserve to be named HOY.
