Default Wiz-mavs trade completed

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wiz...l?hpid=artslot

Mavs get Caron Butler, Brendan Heywood and deshawn Stevenson for Josh Howard, Drew Gooden and change.

Saves 15 million next season and gives another couple million relief for this year.

Good trade for Mavs, Butler better than Howard and Heywood and Stevenson give them added toughness!

I cant kill them. Jamison is 34 and had 28 million/2 years left. Butler and Howard are very similar players. They were going nowhere with these guys and at least they have cap space to try to put something together this summer.

They arent going to get anywhere this summer. Until Leonsis officially buys the team, the wiz are in limbo. These moves were pure salary dumps. Howard's next year is a team option so basically it is expiring.

The jamison trade was impressive in the sense that they actually got a young player and a draft pick out of it when it was no secret the goal was simply to get under the luxury tax threshold regardless of whatever smoke ernie was throwing out there.

Contrary to popular belief and barring something shocking, the wiz are married to gilbert. He has 80 million due and you just can't buy out of contracts like that.
