Unreal, he kills a man driving drunk and he only gets 30 days. What a freaking joke, if Lori did the same thing she'd be locked away for 11 years.

guess the victims daughter wanted it all over already..

but he did also get 2 years house arrest (which hopefully will be a REAL house arrest where he cant even leave the house for work)... 8 years probation... 1,000 hours community service and a lifetime license suspention (no more cruisin drunk in the Bentley).

He also settled with the family so it doesnt go to civil court (wonder how much he paid up?)

Still should have got at least a year behind bars, but for some reason our country lets you get off big time if you admit guilt and feel remorse. I dont think admitting anything or being sorry should make a difference in ANY type of crime, but in the USA its a-okay.

"Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle cited Stallworth's lack of previous criminal record, cooperation with police and willingness to accept responsibility as factors in the plea deal. Rundle also said the Reyes family -- particularly the victim's 15-year-old daughter -- wanted the case resolved to avoid any more pain."

I really dont understand how the bolded makes a difference.

It shouldn't. Basically he offered a ton of money to the family of the victim in exchange for their pressing authorities to go lenient on him. Trust me, you could have done the same thing, been remorseful about it, and would still be spending a long time in jail.

they obviously didn't look at his record while at UT. he was in trouble a couple times there.

The DA is the one who should be doing time if not at least fired here.

For whatever reason, she seems to think involuntary manslaughter under the influence of alcohol while driving a motor vehicle is punishable by 3 months incarceration. This is so far away from the norm it warrants further explanation including but not limited to a request of the record of other cases that have been handled in this manner by this DA.

Maybe the media should keep their nose out of this, so we don't get so anxious to find out the verdict.

Goodell says he will meet with Stallworth before sentencing.
I think its going to be 8 games to one season.
Anything more than 8 games, I'm sure union would file a grievance stating Little's case.

Another thing Goodell going to have to insert in the next bargaining agreement.

The obvious messege to kids who have seen what happened with this case, the Reggie Rogers case, the Vick case, and the Little case couldn't be more clear. Kill people, not dogs.

The thing that has bothered me the most about his story is that he said he saw the guy crossing and flashed his lights at him. Then he proceeded to hit him.

Now, if I am driving and see someone crossing in front of me, the last thing I think of is to flash my lights. My foot is going straight for the brake pedal long before my hand can find the lightswitch.

I keep getting the impression that he thinks the flashing of the lights absolves him of full responsibility in some fashion.

The whole thing sucks.

um yes. I've got an arm like a female Joe Montana. Back in the days before high school I always played football with the boys and they would always make me all-time QB. In college I was good buddies with a lot of the U of A football players and would toss it around with them all the time... they were impressed.

The problem is I was born with the wrong parts, would get KILLED if I got sacked once, and dont have the strength that men do (physically impossible).

But if I was born a man I'd have as many rings as Tom Brady.. and a hotter girlfriend.

maybe he was drunk and not thinking straight? Still cant believe he didnt break or swerve (did he swerve?? I've seen nothing that says yes or no).

I had a real bad streak a couple months ago where I was an animal serial killer. First I ran over something that was already dead... so that was okay, then I killed a cat who was licking its butt in the middle of my lane right around a curve at night... didnt really see it till my tires were going over it. Felt REALLY Bad.. Then I think I killed a squirrel... didnt feel as bad but still sucks.


THEN like the next day, it was night time and I was heading out to play some pool... on a back road that has tall trees all over the sides of the road (shadows out the moon)... cruisin at about 35mph.. the speed limit, and all of the sudden, like 20 ft in front of me there were to big boxers (the dog kind, not human boxers) in the street... One right in the middle/right of my lane and the other was in the other lane and close to the yellow lines.... so I couldnt just dart into the other lane.

I slammed on my breaks but it became quite clear that I wasnt stopping in time. So, with my super quick thinking and reaction time I decide to try to swerve in between the two dogs... I just missed the one on my right and the one who was in the other lane ran into the SIDE of my car as I was passing through. I heard him/her yelp and heard the bang into my drivers side door. I pulled off the road and got out, but the two dogs had run off so I dont think I hurt the dog too bad. Still sat there and cried in my car

I was a danger to all animals on the road... and it wasnt even my fault!

yeah, i hate running over animals-but i did cuss the guy who slammed on his brakes right in front of me to avoid a rabbit. i thought i was going to wipe him out over a bunny...i worked with a lady whose niece was killed when a driver swerved to miss a dog. he went in their lane and hit them head on. i'll try to give animals a break, but i'm not going to endanger a human to help them out.

The tough thing here is that Stallworth seems contrite, compensated the family
for their loss at a level well above the standard for such and apparently had the family advocating no jail time. He went immediately into a treatment program and has stayed sober so far so he was the everything to make amens type...30 days just doesn't seem like justice for the victim.

funniest penalty is that he lost his license for life. Ok, im sure he will follow that order. he killed a guy while loaded and gets 30 days (24 actually). driving with no license penalty would be doing an autograph show for free or maybe dreadlock seminar. I beg Mangini to cut this fool, and Goodell to suspend him a year. FU Stallworth
