Tuesday on 'At the Races', Andy Beyer at 4:15. He will be elaborating on the changes to the Figures for synthetic surfaces. Andy will talk about the impetus for the change and methodology involved and take listeners respectful and intelligent calls...

As soon as I heard about this I began waiting with baited breath for the inane comments I would read on the internet concerning this.

The keep-them-in-the-game hall of fame: Beyer for speed and CJ for pace/speed.

??? I'm not a big Beyer's person to begin with, but the synth tracks, like Keeneland, have been providing numbers on their own. The Beyer people have no choice but to respond or go the way of General Motors.

This is a bad idea.....

You shouldn't "tweak" figures to make them look closer to dirt, when the surface isn't dirt!!! This is a 3rd surface. Can't people just accept the figures are different?

Default Beyers

- I would like to see all synthetic horse Beyers updated. From Pioneerof the Nile to Giacomo (not just going back to January).

- I think that it is great for Andy Beyer to recognize a mistake and change it. Unlike Secretariat’s final time in the Preakness.... where I am still to hear that there was a timer malfunction.

There's not enough time in the day for Beyer to update Giacomo's synthetic Beyers.

I assume you think he should lower Pioneer of the Nile's numbers.

How surprising that many that commented in this thread clearly don't even seem to have taken the time to read the article.
