Tuesday on 'At the Races', Andy Beyer at 4:15. He will be elaborating on the changes to the Figures for synthetic surfaces. Andy will talk about the impetus for the change and methodology involved and take listeners respectful and intelligent calls...

This is a bad idea.....

You shouldn't "tweak" figures to make them look closer to dirt, when the surface isn't dirt!!! This is a 3rd surface. Can't people just accept the figures are different?

blackthroatedwind 06-01-2009 05:23 PM

As soon as I heard about this I began waiting with baited breath for the inane comments I would read on the internet concerning this.

The keep-them-in-the-game hall of fame: Beyer for speed and CJ for pace/speed.

to add douche in there.

Bystander 06-01-2009 06:01 PM

That wouldn't be necessary, he's not the douche.

Nicely done ( including, but not exclusive to, not quoting him ).

hoovesupsideyourhead 06-01-2009 06:25 PM

mixed feelings ive made my own adjustments sence the start.but i guess its good for all

CSC 06-01-2009 06:28 PM

Honestly I thought this was due, but I have mixed feelings since I drew my own conclusions with the synth numbers. This in my opinion gives the novice speed handicapper an easy way out, whereas for myself and others that take the time to watch video and make educated guesses, harder to gain an advantage, I don't know if that makes sense but the best illustration is I thought The Pampelmousse's number was low to begin with and now the rest of the world knows...and seemingly agrees.

Does a poly number mean anything if track temp is not part of the equation?
