Default Smooth Air taken from Stutts

Mount Joy Stables owner Brian Burns has moved Smooth Air from trainer Bennie Stutts into the barn off Chad Brown. Stutts helmed the Smooth Jazz 4 year old to three Gr. II wins and earnings of more than $1,000,000 in 15 starts including the placement in Monday's Gr. I Metropolitan Handicap.

Could this be just for a focus on the NY races and Stutts isn't locally based in NY?

Unfortunately, figures that Stutts said in a phone interview on HRTV earlier in the day that no matter what, he wasn't worried that the owners would take the horse away from him.

He's a former Frankel assistant who trained Maram to her BC win last year. I think someone on this board has some horses with him.

He's definitely a good trainer and has already earned the right to have a big name horse in his barn. However, the circumstances with which he's getting that horse could be better.
