Wow. It's the horse's first start in sixteen months, he apparently got a poorly-timed ride at a distance he's not meant for, and lost by a head. Yeah, what a pig.

You gotta be kidding with this.

beginning to wonder if BB will ever post something original, or of significant use. to be honest, i'd even settle for of less than significant use!

i thought DM looked good, while his jock did not.

BB sure is hard to please tho--two horses who have earned hundreds of thousands of dollars and graded wins--yet he says they're crap. i think BB's opinions are worth that same thing.

I thought DM would win today. I didn't expect him to lose. That being said, I still think he ran really well. I didn't expect him to go three-wide in :44 1/5. In addition, I didn't know that Desert Boom would run his best and get a perefct ride. Desert Boom is no claimer. He won over $400,000 last year. He ran in a lot of graded stakes races last year and won one of them.
Anyway, DM ran a good race today. He should be very tough to beat in the $300,000 Pat O' Brien in his next start.

Cmmon guys bad ride? If he was good enough he would have won. He got outgamed by a horse with half the hype. If this horse cant overcome being swung a bit wide, then hes not a real racehorse. Geez, these bad ride excuses are a bit much. 4 horse field for god's sake.

Being swung wide would not be a problem. He wasn't swung wide. He was three-wide all the way around the turn. Not only was he three-wide all the way around the turn, but he was three-wide, head and head on the lead going :44 1/5. If you don't think that is costly, then I don't understand your method of trip analysis. That has to cost a horse a length or two. It's not as if DM is some speed-ball sprinter. He's a big, long-striding horse.
The winner got a dream trip. The winner sat 6 lengths behind. If DM and the winner would have reversed trips, what do you think would have happened? If Desert Boom went three-wide in :44 1/5 and DM would have sat 6 length behind, DM would have beaten him by 4 lengths. If DM would have simply sat 3-4 lengths off the pace, he would have won by a length or so.

MMMMMM....... bigger fish to fry maybe? Most people know to leave these kinds alone for a race or two. Yeah sometimes they win the 1st race back but at what odds? I'd rather bet a 5k claimer at Beulah than a horse coming off a 16 month break.

Somer i am ashamed of him. Noone has tried to help him out more than me but hes a spoiled little boy. To then start posting on here like a 10 year old kid making up stupid degrading nicknames for big faves he bet that lost is simply unacceptable. Hes 25 going on 11.

Ron Ellis took Buzzards Bay and got him back to the winners circle when he was just a also ran. BB didn't win the frist time for Ellis. Then Ron sent Don't Get Mad to his Brother in-law at CD who also didn't win in a race that clearly was too short for the horse. Victor did what he was suppost to do today. Get the first race under his belt and we go from there. Both Don'tGetMad and Declan's Moon were racing against older horses for the first time after being on the shelf over a year. Who knows what the future holds for?

I just watched the race, and it's just confirmed to me what I knew all along. This horse is the truth. Total monster. The one thing he's yet to do is win outside of the west coast, but he's handled everything else thrown at him, why not?

Yes, he ran a really good race. When he saw the other horse coming, he tried to fight back but he just didn't have quite enough left after those early fractions. When you go :44 1/5 and you are three-wide all the way, it's really like going :43 4/5. Declan's Moon isn't even a speed horse. He wasn't even on the lead in the Santa Catalina when they went the half in : 46 4/5. He was sitting a couple length behind. He certanly doesn't want to go :44.
He ran really well today. He's definitely the horse to beat in the Pat O' Brien.
