Default How much can one horse take?

I am looking at Saturday's Tampa card and who do I see in the 3rd race?

Dennis's Dream who ran 6f on Jan 18 (Clm 5k N2Y) and won.
11 days later he is stretching out to 8.5f (Clm 5k N2Y) wins and gets claimed.
4 days later, the great Pernel Bagwandeen sends him out for a 6.5f dash (Clm 5k), wins his third in a row and Michael Thomas claims him back.
7 days later (Saturday) he is going to run 7f (Clm 6250) looking for his fifth in a row (he won at Calder last June).

That is 3 races in 11 days and 4 races in 22 days. I realize he has been printing money for 22 days, but when does this poor horse get a rest?

This game has a lot of trouble managing itself. To put it mildly. Maybe horse racing needs intervention.

Upper management at the track should contact the vet so that the horse is scratched. Give this horse a break for crying out loud.

As long as a horse is sound, it should be able to run quite often. I would assume he isn't really working bwtween these starts. I think you should have a closer look at a guy like Baffert who'll work horses handy every 7 days for months on end.

If you don't like the way the horse is being managed, you could always pony up and make a claim. This is a tough business for animal lovers to be a fan of. It is far worse when you find a horse running that frequently who isn't winning.

That statement is used quite often around here. Along with the old "I'd take that horse in my stable anytime" whenever anyone is perceived to be badmouthing the horse.

I didn't say wether I liked or disliked the way the horse is being managed. Winning is the name of the game and this horse is certainly doing that. I was just pointing out what the horse was going through and asked when he was going to get a rest.

reminds me of Unusual Suspect's campaign last summer. It seemed like he'd show up every other week.

No no no no no. The horse is being abused because he is winning. That's the point.

He finished 2nd going 5 wide throughout and hung late in this recent 7F test.
