![]() RQ, I think you may be thinking about William B. Travis. He was the commander of the ill fated Texans, Tennesee volunteers, etc. Not that I know anything about Texas history, but I did see the movie with John Wayne.

![]() Making nonsensical posts is a true talent which is to be admired. I lean toward the trivial myself. I excel at the regurgitation of little known facts that nobody knows and few people care about. I was thinking the race might have been named after Mary Travers. I think she was the blonde haired lady in the singing group Peter, Paul and Mary or maybe it was Nancy Travers. I think she plays Tim Allen's wife in that comedy show on Fox.
