![]() NYRA NETWORK INTRODUCES “THE NATIONAL RACING REPORT”
OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will begin airing a new television show, “The National Racing Report,” starting Saturday, February 12, on the NYRA Network, channel 71 on Time Warner’s basic cable system. Hosted by NYRA TV Analysts Jason Blewitt and Andy Serling, the show will usually air Saturday and Wednesday mornings. The Saturday show will preview upcoming weekend stakes races from New York and around the country, while the Wednesday edition will recap major stakes from the previous weekend with a focus on Triple Crown preps. “It's an exciting time at NYRA, and the NYRA Network is a big part of that,” Serling said. “The National Racing Report is our latest effort to bring more information to our fans. While New York racing will always be the primary focus of our programming, like our customers, we are always interested in the important races taking place around the country, especially at this time of year with the Triple Crown quickly approaching.” Each segment will air live at 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays and Wednesdays, with a taped replay following at 10:30 a.m. on both days. On weeks with special holiday live racing on Monday at the NYRA track, the recap show will usually air on Thursday instead of Wednesday. When live racing at Aqueduct Racetrack shifts to a 1 p.m. first post, the segments will air at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Late last year, NYRA reached an agreement with New York City to provide content for Channel 71, a channel that had previously carried the NYCOTB Racing Network. The channel, now known as the NYRA Network, shows racing content from approximately 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. After the conclusion of NYRA’s live races, the channel highlights select simulcast signals from tracks around the country, with coverage usually extending to the end of the card at Santa Anita. On NYRA dark days, usually Mondays and Tuesdays, the channel exclusively shows simulcast signals from around the country.

![]() This has nothing to do with the MSG+ shows like Thoroughbred Weekly. The NYRA Network is Channel 71 in NYC and the boroughs.

![]() Thanks, but that's the channel it airs on Time Warner Cable. I was wondering about Verion FiOS cable. I think their OTB channel used to be ch 27. I'm only asking because I'm moving to a new place that has Verizon cable.

![]() Something's empty, but it is not the station.
Andy, do you know if there is any chance that Time Warner will allow only the show to be DVR'd so that you don't have to tape 8 hours of programing? This would be helpful for Talking Horses as well. |

![]() I'd love to see it statewide for all the NY tracks on the network . Under one NY betting umbrella . Just like Quikdraw. NY needs to get their act together before they impulsively slap that 2.75% surcharge on purses.
Provide an open framework for racing in NY and there will be increased revenue for the state because the business is growing. That surcharge is totally irresponsible.

We can try, but from experience I can say this will likely be VERY hard to make happen, but we'll look into it.

![]() I wish Verizon would roll that out to the Suburbs at least. Lack of the NYRA feed is the only reason I have not switched... Fios doesn't carry any OTB feeds on Long Island, so maybe it is possible.
