I know Roman Ruler and Flower Alley really did it.
Let me tell you something PG once told me, this is actually when I gained respect for him.... He said Bellamy Roads Travers is what made him the clear cut leader of that group.

Let Esken win the Derby before we give him the Triple Crown.

In 2005 that wasn't the case. Bellamy Road's Wood certainly had people excited, but so did the final preps of Afleet Alex and Bandini.

And DrugS liked Giacomo.

You missed my point completely. I am not saying he wins the Triple Crown I am saying this year sets up more than most for a Triple Crown winner as you have 1 horse that is far better than the rest.

I thought this thread was going to be about The Fat Man's quest for the message board tard Triple Crown.

He already won leg #1 with such ease.

If i'm Justin Dew, i'm flattered. Hopped out of the gate, only to recover well and pick off entries one by one.

Good stuff.

I would have to disagree with this on the grounds that my posts are way, way dumber than Vic Stauffer's. Otherwise I think this breakdown is pretty accurate.

How'd Interactif run? Better than Sidney's Candy?

But there were no 'moves' in that race, right?

Today's horses are so lightly raced the challenge becomes keeping it all together for all three legs regardless how easy it may seem for a particular horse. Besides ESKENDEREYA being trained by Pletcher might develop colic before the Belmont anyway.

Current Line at TheGreek:

Will there be a Triple Crown winner in 2010
2001 Yes +465
2002 No -685

It wasn't too many years ago that 30-1 was available on the "Yes". Those high YES odds were huge sportsbook blunders, since unless the Derby winner broke down immediately after the race, it was always going to be possible to buy back the "NO" after the Derby for a substantial hedged profit.

People thought that was the case in Empire Maker's year too, didn't they?
