For Race 10, the #7 - High Conviction and #9 - The Sheik of Araby are both listed as having been gelded 4 days ago. Perhaps Steve or someone else can provide some guidance but that seems like an awfully short time frame to expect the horse to go out and run well.

Probably just reported 4 days ago. They usually cut them after they run so as to give them healing time.

That makes sense and I was thinking that’s a possibility. It would be nice if they could standardize reporting on something like that.

I think that race was supposed to be 8.5 furlongs and they messed up and ran 9 furlongs.

The fractions for that were thrown off by half a furlong:
29.69 (2.5f)
53.50 (4.5f)
1:19.50 (6.5f)
1:44.16 (8.5f)
1:50.51 (9.0f)

Dan's got it right. You report the 'new gelding' at the time you enter. Doesn't take much time for them to heal though.

It's official! NYRA condones a whip to the face of your opponent if they are so close to the wire that " the incident did not effect the result of the race".....take a look at Race 7 #4Fair Regis (Irad Ortiz) vs #3 Out of Orbit (Manny Franco) 3 jumps before the wire. The Stewards woefully missed this one!
