![]() My wife gets a few extra weeks off this summer and we have decided to come to NY. We are looking to rent a place to stay for a week, most likely in the mountains somewhere. What things do I need to know? List best places to stay, eat, visit, etc. Of course I am going to make it to Saratoga for at least one day of racing, so any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

![]() Saratoga is very expensive during racing season. Lake George to the north is touristy but the area is in the mountains and you can rent a place outside of town in a country like place, much less expensively and drive 30 mins to the track. A racing museum visit is a must. stay away from the Travers week racing too. Very crowded and $$$..
Search the past threads on the subject here and paceadvantage as it is a well worn trail. Good luck and enjoy Saratoga, you WILL be back, nothing like it. |

![]() Thanks for posting this, we were staying in Albany because it fit our hotel budget better but now we will be within walking distance of the track. Going Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Travers weekend.
