Default Saginaw

Dave Grening reporting that he did not make it, fractured both sesamoids in left foreleg.

One of my favorites. Big time Bummer.

Terrible news. One of the coolest horses ever on the NYRA circuit in my book.

Man! Sorry to hear the bad news.... He was loved by many fans, and I know he will be sorely missed at the track.

http://www.nyra.com/saratoga/multipl...aw-euthanized/

21 of 41 lifetime, with 10 wins in 2012 tying him for most wins in the year in North America. Just shy of $1,000,000 in career earnings.

He was as game as they come and had a will to get to the wire first. Big loss for the game.

He shares that record with Cigar, right? Anyone else?

Terrible news.

Very difficult atmosphere around the track as the news spread. The Drawing Away people were devastated as you'd imagine, especially as they deservedly have seen Saginaw as indestructible. But none of them are. Very sad. RIP.

Always get that empty feeling when something like this happens. It could be the Derby or a 5K claimer at Penn. Hopefully he exited doing something he loved.
