You see that Harrell (Texas Tech QB) played with TWO SHATTERED fingers, 17 pins inserted yesterday, happened midway through 2nd quarter. He put some tape on it and went out and played, now that is serious....

It was a clean hit. The No Fun League will say otherwise.

Wes Welker has balls of steel. An actual wide receiver to admire in a league full of clowns who shoot themselves (literally).

"defenseless"

It's football fer cryin' out loud. If they don't want people to get hit then just change it to flag football.

interesting however, that gus frerotte got laid out on a late hit that was NOT called. if anyone should get a fine, it's the bozo who hit gus. blatant late hit, no reason for something like that.

That wasn't much of a hit. It was a bump. By the letter of the law, should've been flagged, but Gus dove like a soccer player that has been looked at sternly.

lol
i don't know, even if it wasn't that hard of a hit, it was definitely a late hit-i'm all for physical football, but i don't go for cheap shots like that.

Greatest hit of the season. If the Jets don't make the playoffs, I'll just watch that hit on loop all offseason.

It's not that far fetched of a scenario. They are only one game up in the division and stilll have two games left against division opponents.(those games can go either way) The two wildcard teams as of now, Indy and Baltimore have identical records as teh Jets. (8-4) Not to mention Indy's super soft next two games (Cincy and Detroit) before they close out with Jags and TENN, who may very well be in shut down mode by then. Baltimore seems to have a tougher road ahead facing Wash, Pitt, Dallas, and the now lowly Jags.

If Miami were to win against the Jets in teh finale, it would not be a stretch to have the Fins atop the division. (Their next three games are against the Bills, 49ers, and KC.) It is wide open and there is a possibility (and im not saying a strong one) that NYJ can miss the postseason, this after having strung together a few quality wins in the recent weeks.

And their last 3 losses have come against some of the poorer competition in the AFC. They let Denver come into their house and smack them around, and that Oakland debacle was an eyesore. All of this said, they would still handily beat the team that I root for. I'm just sick of all this 'subway series SB' that I hear the shortbussed know-nothings spew at work.

I said 'if'. I still think they'll most likely make it.

Don't listen to Hooves by the way, he's a bitter, bitter man.

I, too, got sick very quickly of the Subway SB talk. It's absurd. However..

"Their last three losses".. One was in Week 3, the other was in Week 7. You make it sound as if they just finished a three-game losing streak. The Raider game was a million years ago in terms of how they've progressed.

They had a freaking lousy game against a hot-and-cold Denver team that matched up well against them. Big deal. The Jets' secondary and linebackers (aside from Revis) don't excel in coverage, so the defense relies on pressure. The Broncos have the third-best QB protection unit in the NFL, Cutler was untouched all day and away they go. Of our remaining opponents, only the Dolphins can protect the QB worth a damn, and sorry if I'm not trembling about facing a team that beat the Raiders, Seahawks and Rams by a combined seven points.

The Jet offense also had plenty of opportunities and screwed them up. 2-for-13 on third and fourth down isn't going to cut it.

When Peyton Hillis runs for 100+ on Kris Jenkins you know it's an off day. The "sky is falling" bullshit was exactly what I was arguing against when they got handled by San Diego, and look at what's happened since then. They weren't going to finish the season with ten wins in a row, and though of course I was pissed off on Sunday, if it kicks them in the ass and pushes them harder to finish 3-1 or 4-0, then good.
