![]() As a recently new owner of horses this year, one of my 2YO fillies had a stifle condition earlier this Spring. The rear hind leg was not functioning properly.
Anyway, the horse was blistered (a shot given to her) and she responded to that treatment almost immediately and was back to normal. The condition then reappeared once again a few weeks later. This filly has grown much more than was expected and one theory is that she has simply grown up too fast and thus the reason for her right hind leg and her stifle condition. It has been decided to turn her out until next Spring and try to get her to the races as a 3YO. Anyway, it is obviously not uncommon for horses to get to the races until their 3YO year. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who has been associated with horses that has had this experience. Much appreciated... PSH |
