The explosions Saturday came on the track in the form of both bonus mutuels and eye-catching stakes babies. Tote shockers were delivered by Tagg’s 35-1 Cigar Mile surprise Jersey Town and Harty’s cycle-back Citation winner Victor’s Cry (11-1). And while their trainees went postward as choices, Bill Mott and Ken McPeek got impressive efforts from their respective colt and filly. Charlotte Weber’s To Honor and Serve wrapped up a nice juvenile campaign for Mott with a facile Remsen win that earned a 102 Beyer, and McPeek’s Kathmanblu demolished the Golden Rod in faster time than Santiva in the KY JC.
